Juvederm is a smooth gel filler made of hyaluronic acid-
a naturally occurring substance in the body that adds volume
and hydration to the skin.
Juvederm is commonly used to smooth wrinkles and folds in
the lower third of your face, such as the nasolabial folds
(the creases that run from the sides of your nose to the
corners of your mouth) and the “marionette lines” (the
creases that run from the corners of your mouth to the bottom
of your chin). The results are immediate but not permanent.

Procedure Information
Dr. Lo eases Juvederm under the skin using a fine needle
to add volume and diminish wrinkles and folds. A local anesthesia
is used to make the treatment more comfortable. There is
usually some swelling, which resolves rapidly. Juvederm gradually
wears off and retreatment is typically needed in 6-9 months.
Additional Information
Juvederm is made from non animal sources so there is no
chance of transmitting a disease. Additionally, no prior
allergy testing is needed for Juvederm unlike bovine collagen
injections.
