BioMedic MicroPeel@ – Clinical Exfoliation

MicroPeel is a professional grade exfoliation treatment that smoothes, refines, evens, and brightens dull, dry skin. A MicroPeel can also soften fine lines to a limited extent. Many people say it’s like getting Microdermabrasion and a light chemical peel in one 30-minute treatment.

Who can benefit from a MicroPeel?

This procedure is safe for all skin types and requires no recovery time. We only advise that patients stop using Retin-A at least 48 hours before/after treatment.

How is a MicroPeel performed?

  1. The face is cleansed thoroughly.
  2. Gentle dermaplaning is performed to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and tiny facial hairs.
  3. A 15-30 percent alpha-hydroxy acid solution is then applied to the skin in a uniform pattern, and allowed to soak in for about 2 minutes. Other chemical peel solutions such as Glycolic acid or Salicylic acid are sometimes used. This may sting a tiny bit, but only for a brief moment.
  4. To relieve inflammation, a process called cryogenic therapy is done, with a cool mist that gets applied to the skin in circular motions.
  5. The MicroPeel procedure concludes with a soothing application of antioxidant serums and sun protection.

After a MicroPeel

After the procedure is finished, your face will feel smooth and soft. If desired, you can apply makeup right away. In the week following, you might experience some peeling of the skin as its dull outer layers are shed.

This treatment has emerged as a safe, easy, and inexpensive way to renew the appearance of your skin. For some patients, we recommend several sessions to get the best result.
