Skin laxity on the face and sagging skin beneath the chin and on the neck are common signs of aging. This sagging skin can cause you to look tired, and older than you feel. The revolutionary QuickLift can improve these signs of aging, with a quicker recovery time than the traditional facelift.
Tucson facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mikel Lo can perform a QuickLift facelift procedure to correct laxity on the lower half of the face that can be a result of aging.
The QuickLift procedure corrects skin and muscle laxity on the neck, jowls, and lower cheeks. The QuickLift is an alternative to the traditional facelift and neck lift, targeting signs of aging around the neck and lower face. You may wish to consider a QuickLift if you:
If you want a substantial correction of sagging skin on the upper neck, you may need to have a neck lift performed at the same time as your QuickLift. But the QuickLift alone can achieve conservative lifting of the skin on the upper neck.
The QuickLift technique is a type of face lift with shorter surgical time and a shorter recovery time than the traditional face and neck lift, which represent an improvement over the traditional face/neck lift.
Other mini-facelifts may tighten only the skin on the face and upper neck. The QuickLift does address skin, but more importantly, it corrects the underlying facial muscles and connective tissue (called the SMAS).
Additionally, the QuickLift technique is performed with a more vertical pull than a traditional facelift, to produce pleasing and natural looking results.
The QuickLift is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. The procedure takes approximately 2 hours to perform (faster than the traditional face/neck lift) and then the patient is able to go home and relax.
During the procedure, an S-shaped incision is made around the front of the ear and back into the hairline. The skin is lifted to allow Dr. Lo access to the underlying tissues and muscles of your face. These tissues and muscles are raised, and the skin is pulled so that it is tighter. Excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed.
Swelling and bruising goes away in about one week and most patients have minimal discomfort. Recovery time for the QuickLift varies, but many patients are able to undergo the procedure on a Friday and return to work by the following Monday. Dr. Lo will advise you about the recovery time you should expect following the QuickLift, after you tell him about your health and medical history.
You will see the results of your QuickLift the day that the surgery is performed. Your results should be pleasing and natural. Your results will be long-lasting but the aging process will continue following your QuickLift, so the results will not be permanent.
The QuickLift is commonly performed with a browlift, mid-facelift, or eyelid lift. It can also be performed with a neck lift if the neck needs a substantial degree of lift and correction.
