XEOMIN is a new option for injectable wrinkle treatment. As the latest botulinum toxin product on the market, XEOMIN provides an alternative to treatments with Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport.
At About Faces Cosmetic in Tucson, we can use XEOMIN as indicated for the treatment of glabellar frown lines. With a simple injection, XEOMIN can reduce the appearance of your frown lines for several months.
In addition to FDA clearance in the United States, the treatment (marketed under the name BOCOUTURE®) is approved for medical use in 14 countries, including Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain.
XEOMIN is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of glabellar wrinkles.
At our Tucson office, we may recommend botulinum type a medications for treatment of:
If you are bothered by these conditions, ask us about XEOMIN. Please be sure to let us know if you have a known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or if you have any infection at the proposed treatment areas.
A cosmetic surgeon can inject XEOMIN directly into the small facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles to appear on the glabella. Botulinum toxin blocks the release of a chemical messenger known as acetylcholine, which usually sends a signal from the nerves thats causes muscles to contract. After injection, the muscles are still able to contract, but they do it less forcefully, which helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or treat muscle spasms.
Not all botulinum toxin products are the same. A dose of XEOMIN may be different than other botulinum toxin medications. What makes XEOMIN different is the fact that it does not require refrigeration prior to reconstitution. It's the only botulinum toxin currently approved in the U.S. that has this advantage.
Possible side effects after treatment of blepharospasm include but are not limited to drooping eyelid, dry eye, dry mouth, diarrhea, and headache. Possible side effects after treatment of blepharospasm cervical dystonia include difficulty swallowing, neck pain, muscle weakness, injection site pain, and muscle/joint pain. XEOMIN can also cause serious side effects that can be life threatening.
